Getting into cooking more make you realize how vital certain ingredients are to recipes. Heavy (whipping) cream is one of those ingredients. I found this recipe for heavy cream and gave it a try. It only asks for three ingredients and I rarely don't have all of those on hand. This has come in very handy!
Start by melting your butter in a mug in the microwave. Pour the melted butter in to your measured 3/4 Cup of milk and stir it together.
If you drink a lower percentage of milk then it is best to add in 1 Tbsp of flour to help thicken up your cream up.
That's all she wrote...simple isn't it? You can use this mixture in place of 1 Cup of Heavy Cream in a recipe. The only thing that you have to be aware of; is that this particular substitute will not whip so you cannot use it in a whip cream mode...but it is handy for many other reasons.
