I was a part of planning a surprise baby shower for a friend of mine. We used Pinterest as a baseboard and bounced ideas off of each other to plan this little shindig. While I won't go though all the details, I will post some of the decorations and games we used to hopefully help you if you are planing a baby shower.
A game table. This helped keep things organized for everybody. We made it a point to use a different table cloth so it was easily identified and put balloons there as added 'pop'. On the far right of the table we had a basket and lots of newborn diapers spread out in front of it. We had a few sharpies sitting nearby as well and encouraged people to write notes on the diapers for the mom and dad to read when they were changing them. Some of the notes said "You know you love me!", "This, too, shall pass." and "You are the best parents ever!" Another game we had involved a huge plastic baby bottle filled with pink sixlets. It was a "Guess how many are in here" game. I zoomed in from the picture above so you could see it a bit better. The three bottles behind the sixlet game were our "Grand Prizes". My husband painted them to be gold, silver and bronze. As everyone entered, they were given a small pink clothes pin to wear. During the entire shower they were not allowed to say the word "baby". If they did, and someone caught them, they would have to surrender one of their pins. At the end of the shower, the three people with the most pins each got one of these bottles. They were filled to the top with different chocolate and candies. |
