I took a pack of 5 oz cups (they fit the cupcakes in them the best) and stapled 7 together. Then I took tissue paper and layed it down and set the cups on top of it, bringing the paper up and stapling ends to the outer cups. It gave a nice look to it and helped to hide the cups a little more. I don't have any recipe for the cupcakes or and advice for the frosting since my friend did all of that, but the bouquet base is quite simple! |
It looked plenty simple and fairly inexpensive. Our friend also agreed to make the cupcakes for it! So, I made a trip to Walmart and got everything I needed. I would like to say that I got them made right away and had plenty of time to focus on other, slightly more important, wedding planning but I didn't. I procrastinated until closer to the big day than I care to admit. When I did buckle down and make them, however, it only took a couple of hours and they all turned out great! Definitely a Pinterest Win in my book!
Dan and I were trying to be very cost efficient for our wedding, so we did a lot of stuff ourselves. One of them being the centerpieces for our reception tables. We had fiddled around with a lot of ideas for what we could do. The basic candle, some flowers of our wedding colors, a jar of colored sand. We also thought about throwing Dan's taste in there and having each table have a bottle of habanero sauce as the centerpiece. We were about out of ideas when our friend, who was making our cake, sent us our answer. She texted Dan a picture of a Cupcake bouquet that she found on...wait for it...Pinterest! We both liked the idea so I did some more "research" and found an awesome tutorial.
